L’adjonction de l’élastographie par onde de cisaillement semble augmenter la spécificité de l’échographie en mode B sans altérer la sensibilité de l’examen. Shear Wave Elastography (SWE) is a novel technique for obtaining elastogram of soft tissue by tracking the transverse shear waves that spread laterally away from a mechanical disturbance of the tissue. Elasticity is directly related to velocity with Young's modulus. The shear wave is generated within the tissue using acoustic radiation force. The Supersonic Imaging system can achieve frame rate of several thousands per second, which is required to image the passage of the shear wave and to calculate its velocity. Actually in first studies, intraobserver variability is very good and adding SWE to BI-RADS feature analysis improves specificity of breast ultrasound mass assessment without loss of sensitivity." @default.
