Results of a qualitative study of the ${ensuremath{mu}}^{ensuremath{-}}{ensuremath{mu}}^{+}{ensuremath{pi}}^{ensuremath{-}}$ system are reported. A value for the branching ratio $frac{ensuremath{Gamma}({ensuremath{varphi}}^{0}ensuremath{rightarrow}{ensuremath{mu}}^{+}{ensuremath{mu}}^{ensuremath{-}})}{ensuremath{Gamma}({ensuremath{varphi}}^{0}ensuremath{rightarrow}mathrm{all})}$ and upper limits on decay modes $frac{ensuremath{Gamma}({ensuremath{eta}}^{0}ensuremath{rightarrow}{ensuremath{mu}}^{+}{ensuremath{mu}}^{ensuremath{-}})}{ensuremath{Gamma}({ensuremath{eta}}^{0}ensuremath{rightarrow}mathrm{all})}$ and $frac{ensuremath{Gamma}({ensuremath{eta}}^{0}ensuremath{rightarrow}{ensuremath{pi}}^{0}{ensuremath{mu}}^{+}{ensuremath{mu}}^{ensuremath{-}})}{ensuremath{Gamma}({ensuremath{eta}}^{0}ensuremath{rightarrow}mathrm{all})}$ are also given. The invariant-mass spectrum of the muon pairs shows no evidence for the existence of a $J={1}^{ensuremath{-}}$ isovector meson, other than the ${ensuremath{rho}}^{0}$, up to 1300 MeV." @default.
