This chronic disease of the nose, although it is not painful and occurs almost invariably in males, who, as a rule, are less sensitive than females to facial disfigurement, always exposes its victims to ridicule, often makes employment difficult to obtain and not infrequently hampers a patient's whole career. Hebra gave the name of rhinophyma to this disease.
