- W2092546872 abstract "Absolute absorption coefficients for the Ca resonance line at 4227 AA perturbed by rare gases below one atmosphere have been measured between 1000 and 1100K in the spectral range of about 1 to 1000 cm-1 on both sides of the line centre. Like the authors' previous measurements on Sr and Ba, the absorption profiles have strong asymmetries for Ar, Kr and Xe, while for He and Ne the profiles are nearly symmetric. Using the autocorrelational approach of Kielkopf, the difference interaction potentials for Ca-Ar, Ca-Kr and Ca-Xe pairs have been deduced. They have wells of depth 19, 46 and 64 cm-1 respectively, at interatomic distances 7.0, 6.4 and 6.3 AA. The profiles of Ca-He and Ca-Ne have been analysed by the impact theory to yield effective cross sections. The results, sigma =106 and 124 AA2 respectively, show good agreement with previous measurements. Finally the profile of Ca-Ar has been compared with a recent experiment on collisionally redistributed radiation by Corney and McGinley." @default.
