- W2093329864 abstract "High-damping alloys based on the Fe-Cr system have been applied in components that require low levels of sound emission and vibration, high corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. In such ferromagnetic alloys the damping mechanism is ascribed to irreversible movement of magnetic domain walls and the resulting damping capacity is normally evaluated by the inverse of the quality factor Q. A typical high-damping composition of the Fe-Cr system is the Fe-12%Cr alloy. To improve the damping capacity of this material many authors have studied the effect of heat treatments and additions of alloy elements. The purpose of this work is to evaluate the effect of heat treatment and different additions of Al and Mo elements on damping capacity of Fe-16%Cr alloys and to correlate it with magnetic domain structures." @default.
