- W2093474600 abstract "The temperature dependence of the heat capacity at constant pressure, C°p, of vinylbenzyldimethylsilane in the crystalline, glassy, supercooled liquid and liquid states, as well as that of polyvinylbenzyldimethylsilane in the glassy and rubber elastic states have been studied in an adiabetic vacuum calorimeter in the range 9–330°K with an accuracy of 0.2%. The following phenomena have been revealed: vinylbenzyldimethylsilane, glass transition and the melting of crystals cI and cII; polyvinylbenzyldimethylsilane, glass transition and a reversible physical transition in the glassy polymer. The thermodynamic parameters of the transitions have been determined. The functions H° (T) − H° (0), S° (T) − S° (0) and G° (T) − H° (0) have been calculated for the monomer and polymer in the range of 0–330°K from data obtained; S° (0) and H°g − H°c (0) have been calculated for vinylbenzyldimethylsilane and S°c for polyvinylbenzyldimethylsilane. The enthalpy for the process of transformation of vinylbenzyldimethylsilane into the polymer has been measured in an isothermal boiling liquid calorimeter. The results obtained have been used to calculate the thermodynamic parameters for polymerization (ΔH°p, ΔS°p and ΔG°p in the range 0–350°K. The upper limiting temperature for the polymerization of vinylbenzyldimethylsilane has been determined." @default.
