The experimental observations have been compared with numerical calculations carried out on the basis of kinetic step models. The correspondence found between theoretical and experimental results has shown that under suitable conditions not only the surface diffusion but also the diffusion along the step (edge diffusion) may substantially influence the advance of steps, which should be of particular interest for the theoretical treatment of spiral steps developing around points of dislocation emergence." @default.
