They enable early andintegrated design as well as validation of finalized system andcomponent designs. This paper describes the main methodsand tools that can be applied for different phases of theenergy design process.For demonstration, the object-oriented modeling languageModelica was chosen, since it enables convenient modelingof multi-physical systems. Based on this standard, commonmodeling guidelines, a modeling library template, andcommon interfaces have been provided. A common modelinginfrastructure is proposed with considerations on additionallibraries needed for local tasks in the energy design process.The developed methods and tools have been tested by meansof some predefined use cases, which are performed incooperation with diverse aircraft industrial partners.
