- W2094687648 abstract "In the experimental investigation of A-K sheet subjected to two-stage straining (an initial planar shear pre-strain in three directions, followed by subsequent tensile strain at a range of orientation with respect to the initial shear direction) the anisotropy of the A-K sheet has been observed to be one of the important factors influencing the mechanical behaviour in the subsequent tensile test. The results show also that the angle between the direction of the pre-shear and the direction of the subsequent tensile test has a considerable influence on the yield stress, the ductility and the work-hardening rate of the material. It is well known that macroscopic mechanical properties correspond closely with the microstructure of the material. For the three typical cases, where the angle between the two-stage straining is equal to zero, 45 and 90 degrees, the positron lifetime method is used to study the microscopic defects of the A-K sheet. The investigation of the positron annihilation shows that the number of dislocation defects is not sensitive to the different mechanical behaviour for the three typical cases, the defects of dislocation pile-ups and vacancy accumulation having some effect on the subsequent behaviour of the materials, but not being important factors. When the dislocation shape is observed by TEM, the results show that for A-K sheet subjected to two-stage straining, an important factor influencing the mechanical behaviour is the dislocation cell shape rather than the number of dislocation defects." @default.
