- W2095153574 abstract "Controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) is employed for the majority of IVF cycles. It has been postulated, however, that COH may alter endometrial development, potentially affecting histology and receptivity. Comparison of euploid embryo transfers in fresh and frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycles provides an opportunity to better assess endometrial function by eliminating aneuploidy as a potential confounding factor. Retrospective cohort study. All PGS cycles performed between January 2012 and March 2013 with euploid embryos available for transfer were included in this study. TE biopsies of expanded blastocysts were performed on day 5 or 6 depending on rate of expansion. Samples of TE cells were analyzed utilizing 24 chromosome aneuploidy screening by qPCR or aCGH. Outcomes for patients receiving a fresh transfer of euploid embryos biopsied on day 5 and transferred on the morning of day 6 were compared to patients receiving euploid embryos biopsied and vitrified either on day 5 or day 6 and transferred during a subsequent FET cycle. 101 euploid embryo transfers were analyzed. Outcomes are shown in the table below.Table 1Fresh TransferFrozen Transferp valueTransfers6239Avg. There is also a trend toward increased ongoing pregnancies in FET cycles. This may suggest that embryonic competence is demonstrated by equivalent positive pregnancy test results, whereas endometrial competence may be reduced in COH cycles as demonstrated by a significantly reduced clinical pregnancy rate. Further data needs to be collected but evidence is accumulating that FET cycles may offer improved outcomes." @default.
