- W2095155270 abstract "Abstract The process of electrochemical decomposition of solid F − - ionic conductive electrolyte (SIC) based on LaF 3 was investigated in the cells with electrodes made of various materials. It was found out, that the decomposition of SIC took place on the side of the negative electrode during the charging of these cells by current 1–1000 mkA/cm 2 . Changes in the structure of materials of SIC/electrode interface was established: the formation of metallic phase of lantan with dendrit structure, which presented clearly in the mellow specimen of SIC, was found out by means of electron microscopy and ESCA. At the same time materials of the positive electrode were effectively fluorinated by electrochemical process. We didn't find any influence of the negative electrode material on the decomposition process. By proper choosing of the positive electrode materials one can define the resulting EMF. In case the positive electrode made from Pb or Bi, the EMF was 2.35 V and 2.7 V accordingly. These facts corresponded the formation of PbF 2 and BiF 3 on the positive electrodes. The EMF values was stable for several charging-discharging cells cycles. In case of the positive electrode made from Bi it can be achieved EMF value 3.65±0.03V. For such cells BiF 5 was found in the cathode composition by means of Raman spectroscopy. Basing on obtained data we made an estimation of BiF 5 standard Gibbs energy formation, which was found to be 895±17 kJ/mole." @default.
