- W2095390209 abstract "EM concentrators are used in field and energy focusing. However, the already proposed concentrators, the devices compressing an enclosed region to its central part, necessitate anisotropic and inhomogeneous materials that can hardly be realized in applications. In this work, two-dimensional strip concentrators are designed based on transformation optics, which compress an enclosed region to its marginal part. Importantly, the devised concentrators with fixed-compressive ratios can be realized via rotated-layered systems that are composed of two kinds of isotropic and homogeneous materials, exhibiting fantastic performance. And thickness of each layer in layered systems influences compressing effect. Besides, arc concentrators bent from strip ones for cylindrical wave are constructed. The strip and arc concentrators can be used in the concentration of far and near field of a point source. All these concentrators are accurately supported by simulations, validating the method we proposed. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 56:1776–1781, 2014" @default.
