The tenuissimus muscle of cat and rabbit was dissected and arranged for direct microscopic observation. Simultaneous measurements were made of central blood pressure, pulse, pulse pressure and regional blood flow as well as of the diameters and flow rates of the vessels with a diameter of 2 μ–100 μ. Hematological phenomena and changes in blood cell rheology could also be registered. This method will be used for studying the function of the resistance vessels and the effects on the microcirculation of hemorrhagic shock." @default.
