- W2095482743 abstract "The isothermal release rate of tritium of a Al-Mg-Li alloy irradiated by thermal neutrons was measured in a temperature region from 573 to 830 K. The results were analysed by a diffusion-controlled model and diffusion coefficients of tritium were determined as follows; D = 8.5 × 10−1 exp(−75 ± 15RT) cm2/s (573 K < T < 730 K), D = 6.6 × 10−1 exp(−30.9 ± 2.9RT) cm2/s (730 K < T < 823 K), where the activation energies are expressed in kJ/mol. Comparison of these results with those of 14 MeV neutron irradiated specimens showed common behavior for tritium release in the present alloy. The tritium release rate was completely controlled by the diffusion process in a higher temperature region but it was retarded by oxygen contamination on the specimen surface in a lower temperature region. The boundary temperature of higher and lower temperature regions was dependent upon the extent of the oxygen contamination and it ranged from 670 to 730 K under our experimental conditions." @default.
