Watershed management is seen as an entry point for improving livelihoods and achieving food security through diversification of the systems and enhancing agricultural productivity through efficient use of natural resources. Micro-enterprises for women and vulnerable groups created rural employment opportunities as well as additional sources of income. Capacity building is an important pillar for scaling-up this approach. This approach has resulted in increasing agricultural productivity by 2 to 3 folds, doubling the family incomes, and reducing runoff up to 66% and soil loss by 2/3 rd ." @default.
