- W2097848662 abstract "Final-state interactions in the p–p and p–n systems, corresponding to the formation of the singlet states of the diproton and the deuteron, have been observed in the reactions 3He(3He, 2p)4He and T(3He, np)-4He, using two-dimensional energy analysis of the p–4He coincidences. An incident 3He energy of 1.50 MeV was used in these measurements. The interactions appear as an increase in the coincidence yield in the region of the p–4He kinematic contours corresponding to a breakup in which the nucleons emerge with low relative energy. The validity of two approximate theories of final-state interactions, the Watson theory and the Phillips, Griffy, and Biedenharn density-of-states formalism, was checked by comparing their predictions with the observed energy spectra." @default.
