- W2098847902 abstract "The development of complex, data-intensive web applications is becoming simpler due to theusage of content management systems. Conventional information systems developmentmethods as well as web application development methods do not cover the needs of a methodfor web content management implementations. In this research we apply an assembly-basedsituational method engineering approach to develop a new design method, calledWebEngineering Method (WEM). First, implementation situations are identified, then, candidate methods are selected and finally, a new method of useful method fragments isassembled. By using route map configuration, we tune the method fragments to obtainsituationality. A meta-modeling technique is proposed that integrates UML activity diagramsand class diagrams for the purpose of analyzing existing methods and assembling the newmethod. The method developed was validated in a case study, which consisted of a technologytesting web application at a large telecommunication organization in the Netherlands. The casestudy results were very promising, but more case studies are required to refine the method." @default.
