Bei Anregung zwischen 26 000 und 29 000 cm−1 beginnt die gelbe Zimmertemperaturlumineszenz (ṽmax = 17 000 cm−1) unterhalb von 120 K zugunsten einer schwach strukturierten blauen Bande (ṽmax = 22900 cm−1) zu verschwinden. Die Umwandlung ist bei etwa 50 K abgeschlossen. Bei Anregung über 29 000 cm−1 bleibt die gelbe Bande neben der blauen auch noch bei 15 K erhalten. Die blaue Lumineszenz mit einer Abklingzeit von etwa 3 · 10−5 sec wird der π* → π-Phosphoreszenz des komplex an Cu(I) gebundenen Pyridins zugeordnet. Es wird ein kinetisches Modell aufgestellt, das die Farbänderung der Lumineszenz auf eine Energieübertragung zwischen zwei Termsystemen in CuJ · Py zurückführt. Der Übertragungsprozeß benötigt eine Aktivierungsenergie von 9,9 kJ/mol. Luminescence emission spectra, excitation spectra and decay curves of CuJ · pyridine were measured between 300 K and 15 K. If the substance is excited between 26000 and 29000 cm−1 the yellow room temperature luminescence (ṽmax = 17 000 cm−1) begins to disappear below 120 K in favour of a weakly structured blue band (ṽmax = 22 900 cm−1). The conversion is finished at about 50 K. If the substance is excited at wave-numbers higher than 29 000 cm−1 the yellow band remains observable besides the blue one even at 15 K. The blue luminescence with a decay time of about 3 · 10−5 sec is assigned to the π* → π-phosphorescence of pyridine with a complex bond to Cu(I). A kinetic model is set up which attributes the change in luminescence colour to an energy transfer between two term systems in CuJ · Py. The transfer process requires an activation energy of 9.9 kJ/mol." @default.
