- W2100091858 abstract "Childhood's Dangerous Spaces as Depicted in Several Accounts of Miracles from the 12th and 13th Centuries - Accounts of miracles dating from the twelfth and thirteenth centuries bring to light the spaces where children lived, and particularly those where accidents occurred. The latter spaces clearly change with the age of the child. If infants are victims of accidents primarily inside the home (by drowning or suffocation), children aged from three to seven are exposed to danger rather in peripheral domestic areas (boys very often because of the games they play and little girls because they imitate their mothers' gestures). Lastly, children over seven meet with accidents some distance away from home, which grows as they get older, boys being more much more imperilled than girls, who tend to be more sedentary. From the study of the types of accidents and of the places where they occurred one may apprehend the living spaces of infancy and childhood during the classic Middle Ages." @default.
