The terminal velocity has been measured as a function of the physical properties of the both dispersed and continuous phases, and of falling tube diameter. It is shown that inthecreeDing flow region (Re « 1) and for the conditions when the viscosity of the dispersed phase is much smaller khan khat of khe continuous phase, the extent of wall effect is determined only by the ratio of the sizes of the settling fluid sphere and of the vessel. The same analytical relation correlates well the data for both Newtonian and non Newtonian continuous media in the range d/D < 0.45. On a étudié dans ce travail l'importance des effets de paroi sur la vitesse en chute libre de spheres flujes dans des milieux newtoniens et des milieux non newtoniens pseudoplastiques au repos. La vitesse terminale a etr: mesuree en fonction des propriétés physiques des phases dispersée et continue ainsi que du diametre du tube to bant. On montre que dans la région d'écoulement rampant (Re « 1) et pour les conditions où la viscosité de la phase dispersee est beau-coup plus petite que celle de la phase continue, l'importance de l'effet de paroi est déterminée uniquemement par rapport entre la taille des sphères fluides en formation et celle du réservoir. La měme relation corrèle bien les données des milieux continue newtoniens et non newtoniens lorsque d/D < 0.45." @default.
