Crystal Structure of Methylenesulfurtetrafluoride Single crystals of methylenesulfurtetrafluoride H2CSF4 (mp. ca. −135°C) could be grown via a miniaturized Bridgman technique. The structure (space group P212121; a = 814.6(5), b = 856.0(5), c = 563.3(4) pm; Z = 4) has been refined to R = 0.037 for 771 reflections hkl. In the H2CSF4 molecules the sulfur atoms have approximately a trigonal-bipyramidal environment. The CH2 group occupies the position of the nonbonding electron pair in SF4. The hydrogen atoms are found in the plane of the S, C, and axial F atoms." @default.
