The penetration of the tricaprylin into the HIPS sheets and the simultaneous migration of the additives into the tricaprylin were analyzed by means of radio-tracer techniques, applied to thin cut sections of the plastic sheets. It turned out that irrespective of the special additive under investigation, the migration process is nearly totally determined by the swelling of the HI-PS. The reason for this is to be found in the extraordinary strong interaction between HI-PS and tricaprylin which is by no means representative of a contact system “plastic/edible fat” in general. By application of a simplified version of the mathematical model developed recently in our institute, a concise description of the migration process in the contact system “HI-PS/tricaprylin” is given. Preßplatten aus schlagfestem Polystyrol, das drei verschiedene käufliche Additive enthielt, von denen eines 3H-markiert war, wurden mit 14C-markiertem Tricaprylin bei 40 °C einige Zeit in Kontakt gehalten. Das Eindringen des Tricaprylins in die schlagfesten Polystyrolplatten und die gleichzeitige Wanderung der Additive in das Tricaprylin wurde mit Hilfe der Radio-Tracer-Methode an Dünnschnitten von Kunststoffplatten analysiert. Es stellte sich heraus, daß unabhängig von der Art des untersuchten Additivs der Migrationsprozeß nahezu vollständig durch die Quellung des schlagfesten Polystyrols bestimmt wird. Der Grund hierfür ergab sich in der außergewöhnlich starken Wechselwirkung zwischen schlagfestem Polystyrol und Tricaprylin, welche keinesfalls repräsentativ für ein Kontaktsystem „Kunststoff/Speisefett”︁ im allgemeinen ist. Durch Anwendung einer vereinfachten Version des mathematischen Modells, das kürzlich in unserem Institut entwickelt wurde, wird eine kompakte Beschreibung des Migrationsprozesses in dem Kontaktsystem „schlagfestes Polystyrol/Tricaprylin”︁ gegeben." @default.
