By air pollution the population dynamics of some pests are changed to disadvantage of wood. This is possible as well by directly influencing the pest as by indirectly favouring in consequence of lightning the forest stand. Some of the pest species can be used as bioindicators for air pollution, namely Zeiraphera griseana, Cephalcia falleni and Pristiphora abietina at spruce, Dreyfusia nordmannianae at fir, Taeniothrips laricivorus at larch and Exoteleia dodecella at pine. Zusammenfassung Es wird ein Überblick der Erkenntnisse über die forstschädlichen Arthropoden in immissionsgeschädigten Baumbeständen gegeben. Durch Immissionen wird die Populationsdynamik mancher Schädlinge zum Schaden des Ökosystems verändert. Dies kann sowohl durch direkte Wirkung auf den Schädling als auch durch dessen Begünstigung in Folge der Auflichtung des Bestandes geschehen.
