- W2105561557 abstract "We reviewed our experience of four cases, including cervical pregnancy and cesarean section (C/S) scar pregnancy, in attempt to find out the most effective treatment method. We identified four cases with cervical pregnancy or cesarean section scar pregnancy who had received treatment at our hospital between 2000 and 2003. All of these patient were treated by transarterial embolization (TAE) followed by D&C. In case 2and 4, intramuscular methotrexate injection was prescribed before TAE and D&C. Serial sonography and serum human β-chorionic gonadotrophin (HCG) level were used for follow-up. Four cases of cervical pregnancy or C/S scar pregnancy were diagnosed by sonography. Case 1 was cervical pregnancy, the others were all C/S scar pregnancy. Two patients (case 1and 2) were transferred to our hospital due to immediately massive vaginal bleeding during trying of curettage. The other two patients (case 3 and 4) went to our hospital for help because of vaginal bleeding. The average ages of these 4 patients were 39.25 years (average 46–28 years) and the average serum β-HCG level were 48911.4 mIU/ml (average 83441.8–352.2 mIU/ml). The average of serum β-HCG level reached to non-pregnancy level is 20.3 days after D&C. Immediate cease of vaginal bleeding was achieved after D&C. No one of these patients require further surgical intervention, such as hysterectomy. We recommended that the treatment of choice for cervical pregnancy or cesarean section scar pregnancy is TAE followed by D&C. The advantages of this method were not only to preserve her fertility but also shorter hospital stay, recovery time and followed-up periods." @default.
