- W2105615587 abstract "In this paper, an analysis of an axial-flux permanent-magnet generator (AFPMG) performance, operating under an optimum control strategy is presented. This control strategy is intended for applications in wind power generation. The main goal of this scheme is to transfer the maximum power available in the wind to the electrical system, through an adequate handling of the stator currents in the generator. To do this, both the maximum power point tracking strategy and the maximum torque per ampere controls are used. While the first one has the advantage of not using wind speed measurement, the second aims to minimize generator losses. Furthermore, for operation above the rated speed, a field weakening control is performed and the amount of power extracted from the wind in this condition is evaluated. Results show that it is possible to obtain a higher amount of power if the machine has flux weakening capability." @default.
