Zusammenfassung Wirkungen von Metepa auf das Paarungs‐Verhalten von Spodoptera littoralis (Boisd.) Die Begattungs‐Kapazität der Männchen von Spodoptera wurde nach Behandlung der Männchen oder Weibchen mit dem Chemosterilant Metepa etwas verringert, doch war die Verringerung größer, wenn beide Geschlechter behandelt wurden. Es waren weder die Annahme von Männchen zwischen behandelten und unbehandelten Weibchen noch die Konkurrenz zwischen behandelten und unbehandelten Männchen signifikant verschieden. Nur junge sterilisierte Weibchen kopulierten; 4 Tage alte Weibchen verloren ihre Kopulationsfähigkeit. Jedoch braucht das Alter kein wesentlicher Begrenzungsfaktor für eine erfolgreiche Bekämpfung der Falter mit Chemosterilantien sein, da sie etwa 90 Tage lang leben. Demgegenüber betrug die Lebenszeit der sterilisierten Falter nur 7 Tage. Die mittlere Kopulationsdauer bei den verschiedenen Paarungen betrug 65, 69, 75 unci 77 min für Normalfalter, Sterilisation des Weibchens, des Männchens sowie beider Geschlechter. Die Unterschiede zwischen den drei ersten Formen sind signifikant. Die Paarungen behandelter Tiere waren z. T. abnorm, indem sich die Männchen nicht mehr von den Weibchen lösen konnten." @default.
