- W2109449384 abstract "In December 2001 Argentina underwent the worst socioeconomic crisis in its history.Strong criticisms emerged against almost all social injustices which had arisen because ofthe policies promoted by former governments. Forgiveness of the crimes committed by thedictatorship during the Dirty War that took place in the late 70's and reconciliationpolicies had been adopted by the post-dictatorship governments. However, theadministration of elected president Nestor Kirchner (2003-2007) changed the officialdiscourse about the past overnight. The new viewpoint was a legitimization of the testimonyof victims, which became the starting point for the condemnation of past human rightsviolations. This paper examines how the discursive transformations introduced by the government ofNestor Kirchner shape private discourses of the experience of dictatorship. In order tostudy this intersection between public and private memories, we will analyze politicaldiscourses and discourses obtained in discussion groups conducted in Buenos Aires duringFebruary and March 2008. The study is based on a semantic and pragmatic analysis of theimplicit and explicit information suggested by political implicatures which emerge bydifferent discursive-semantic strategies. The construction of collective memory is mainlygrounded in the interaction of public and private discourses of the past" @default.
