The inclusion of the motives and foci of employee commitment in commitment-performance studies have revealed more statistically significant relationships between the two constructs. This paper provides an overview of the different motives and domains or targets of employee commitment and highlights the importance of using affective rather than normative or continuance commitment measures in research. In addition, it discusses the weaknesses in using the Organizational Commitment Questionnaire (OCQ) as a measure of organizational commitment." @default.
