Consequently, the biomass and grain yields were also generallyequivalent under all thetillagetreatments.The average values were 3.10, 3.19, 3.64 Mg ha -1 for biomass and 0.59, 0.58, 0.60 Mg ha -1 for grain yield under MT, CC and MP respectively. Theresults on%Ndfa (nitrogen derived from atmosphere) and totalN2-fixedvaried with sites. At Rawalpindisite,thoughtotalnitrogenfixationslightlydecreased with decrease in tillage intensity , thedifferences were statistically non significant . The average values were 24, 34, 32percent for %Ndfa and15, 19, 21kg ha -1 for total N 2-fixed under MT, CC and MP, respectively. A t Fatehjang site ,CC hadsignificantly lowernitrogen fixation thanMT andMP.Theaveragevalues were40, 12, 49percentfor%Ndfa and24, 6, 32kg ha -1 for total N 2-fixedunder MT, CC and MP, respectively. The results o fstudy indicate that comparable mungbean grain yield andnitrogenfixation can be achieved by minimum tillagewhile avoidingcurrent intensive tillage practicesin semi arid Pothwar, Pakistan." @default.
