- W2115054242 abstract "In this paper, the problem of buoyancy-induced convection flow in water-saturated porous media near 4°C is examined using a numerical model. Darcy's law is used to model flow behavior and a single equation convective heat transfer model is used for the energy equation. As the Boussinesq approximation is not valid for this case, a parabolic dependence of density on the temperature is used. Natural convection is generated and sustained by a uniform heat source. Flow behavior is governed by three natural parameters appearing in the model. They are: (i) dynamical parameter, For certain ranges of θw (<0) and Gr, interesting density inversion effects are possible. Transient solutions are obtained for various aspect ratios and modified Grashof number values. For a wide range of Grashof number, steady state solutions could not be obtained. Flow mutations into periodic and chaotic solutions are investigated for a range of Grashof number (100 to 40,000) and aspect ratio values (1 to 10). On étudie dans cet article le problème de l'écoulement de convection induit par la force d'Archimède dans un milieu poreux saturé d'eau à près de 4°C à partir d'un modèle numérique. On utilise la loi de Darcy pour modéliser le profil d'écoulement et un modèle de transfert de chaleur convectif à équation unique pour l'équation d'énergie. L'approximation de Boussinesq n'étant pas valide pour le cas présent, on utilise une dépendance parabolique de la masse volumique par rapport à la température. La convection naturelle est entra înée et maintenue par une source de chaleur uniforme. Le profil d'écoulement est gouverné par trois paramètres naturels apparaissant dans le modèle, à savoir: (i) le paramètre dynamique, Pour certaines gammes de θw (<0) et de Gr, des effets d'inversion de masse volumique intéressants sont possibles. Des solutions transitoires sont obtenues pour plusieurs rapports d'élancement et valeurs de Grashof. Pour une large gamme de nombres de Grashof, des solutions à l'état permanent n'ont pu être obtenues. Des mutations d'écoulement dans des solutions périodiques et chaotiques sont étudiées pour des nombres de Grashof compris entre 100 et 40 000 et des valeurs de rapport d'élancement entre 1 et 10." @default.
