A pesar de las pruebas que demuestran que los enfoques farmacológico-conductuales combinados constituyen en muchos casos la estrategia óptima para los trastornos por uso de sustancias, en la práctica clínica no son abundantes los enfoques combinados efectivos que se observan. Los tratamientos combinados ofrecen una gran potencialidad terapéutica. La más sólida justificación de los tratamientos combinados se encuentra en las recomendaciones contenidas en las distintas guías clínicas que han aparecido en los últimos años sobre la eficacia de los distintos tratamientos. No obstante, no ha sido aún respondida definitivamente la cuestión de si los tratamientos combinados son más eficaces que los tratamientos unimodales. To analyze the clinical utility of the combined treatments (psychological and farmacological) in the addiction to drugs, the mechanisms through which operate, their therapeutic potentiality and, the suitability of its actually habitual clinical application. Revision of the bibliography on the effective and the effectiveness of the combined treatments in addictions, the difficulties that derive from their investigation and its present clinical application. The combined treatment is based on the foundation of which the psychological and farmacological treatments operate with different but complementary mechanisms, and have potential to produce cumulative effects To weighing of the tests that demonstrate that the combined farmacological-behavioral approaches constitute in many cases the optimal strategy for the upheavals by use of substances, in the clinical practice are not abundant the combined approaches effective that are observed. The combined treatments offer a great therapeutic potentiality. The most solid justification of the combined treatments is in the recommendations contained in the different clinical guides who have appeared years in the last on the effectiveness of the different treatments.
