Se describen los indicadores de servicio (indicadores de codificación, clínicos, de reingreso, de estancia preoperatoria, de prescripción farmacéutica, de gasto farmacéutico y de infección quirúrgica por tipo de cirugía) e indicadores hospitalarios (mortalidad evitable, mortalidad por infarto agudo de miocardio como diagnóstico principal, mortalidad en 48 h tras cirugía programada, tasas de prevalencia de pacientes con úlceras de decúbito y tasas de prevalencia de infecciones nosocomiales) que forman parte del cuadro de mandos. Los indicadores incluidos en el cuadro de mandos transmiten a los servicios la información que necesitan para la gestión clínica y constituyen un instrumento útil para la mejora de la calidad asistencial. To develop a series of clinical indicators on the performance of a hospital and its clinical departments for the purpose of creating a useful tool for clinical management. A working group was set up with representatives from the departments of clinical documentation, hospital pharmacy, preventive medicine, clinical epidemiology, biostatistics, and quality assurance. The group proposed a draft of indicators for each hospital department, which included both department indicators and overall hospital indicators, with their corresponding comparisons with the indicators from the previous year and indicators from similar hospitals. The draft was sent to all clinical departments coordinated by the Medical Directorate and was modified following the suggestions made by clinicians. The department indicators (codification, clinical performance, re-admission rates, pre-surgery length of stay, drug prescription, pharmaceutical expenses, and surgical infection by type of surgery) and hospital indicators (preventable mortality, deaths from acute myocardial infarction as the principal diagnosis, mortality within 48 hours of elective surgery, prevalence rates of patients with pressure ulcers, and prevalence rates of nosocomial infections) that ultimately made up the control panel are described. The indicators included in the control panel convey the information that departments need for clinical management and are a useful tool for quality improvement." @default.
