- W2123137864 abstract "SummaryPhysico-chemical properties of the necrotizing factor in the serum from rheumatic patients were studied and the following conclusions were obtained. The necrotizing factor (or a part of it) easily combines with the guinea-pig's skin and other tissues.Inhibitors against protein denaturation such as urea, sucrose, sodium dodecyl sulfate and salicylate inhibit the necrotizing activity at a low concentration. Phenylbutazone has the same inhibitory effect on the necrotizing activity. The necrotizing activity is lost by changing the pH of the serum to acid.Protease inhibitors, steroid hormone, anti-histamine drugs, and chloroquine compounds do not inhibit the necrotizing activity significantly at a low concentration.Inflamed synovial fluid has not necrotizing activity. From these results it is considered that the necrotizing factor has a property of combining easily with tissue or with other substance, and that the property is important as a cause of inflammation or necrosis." @default.
