- W2126188791 abstract "A phase change fluid composed of microencapsulated octacosane particles in a carrier fluid (microPCM fluid) was evaluated and compared to a sensible baseline cooling fluid using a bench-scale pumped loop. This study illustrated that the microPCM fluid maintains lower surface temperatures by up to 16% and a more constant temperature distribution along the heated tube section as compared to a sensible fluid. The results also indicate that the microPCM fluid augments the convection coefficient of the system by 25% and the effective specific heat by up to a factor of three. Based on these experimental results, an octacosane based microPCM fluid is an ideal candidate for thermal management of electronic systems." @default.
