- W2126649859 abstract "This chapter discusses several anti-inflammatory analgesics and drugs used in rheumatoid arthritis and gout. The important role of H. pylori in the induction of chronic active gastritis and, possibly, peptic ulceration, is now widely recognized. The frequency of H. pylori in gastric biopsies of these patients has, remarkably, been found to vary from zero to 93%. The use of misoprostol for 3 months was associated with a significantly lower incidence of gastric ulcers than 3 months administration of sucralfate. The presence of gastric erosions at endoscopy can be considered a potential risk factor for the development of a gastric ulcer in chronic non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) users. Anti-pyrine is the compound most widely used for assessment of oxidative xenobiotic metabolizing enzyme activity in the liver and it is known to be remarkably non-toxic when used in this way. However, serious allergic reactions can very rarely occur and a fatality after intravenous anti-pyrine administration has recently been reported. Propyphenazone and dipyrone have very similar chemical structures, but, according to a study that orally challenged a small number of patients with a history of urticaria and anglo-edema attributable to these compounds, patients who have suffered immediate hypersensitivity reactions to one may not react to the other." @default.
