In miR-34a-containing SLNs (miSLNs-34a), miR-34a is protected from degradation in the serum and its cellular-transfection efficiency in vitro is increased. Thus, treatment with miSLNs-34a results in a higher probability of survival of CSC-bearing mice (see picture).
