After an injection of 1 mCi folic acid, liver received the highest dose, about 90 rems, followed by kidney, 65 rems, and bone marrow, 15 rems. For tritiated water, the rat body received a fairly uniform dose of about 12 rems/mCi. On the basis of the recommendations of the International Commission on Radiological Protection, it is suggested that tritiated folic acid is about twice as toxic as tritiated water." @default.
