- W2133014732 abstract "In order to study the effects of MnO2 nanoparticles on cells of rats liver and kidney, rats liver and kidney cells were exposed to different concentrations (0, 0.05, 0.50, 5.00, 50.00 μg/mL) of MnO2 nanoparticles at 37°C. An hour later, reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels, glutathione (GSH) concentrations and DNA-protein crosslinks (DPC) degrees in cells were measured to detect the adverse effects. Results showed that compared with the control group, under the 0.5 μg/mL MnO2 nanoparticles exposure, neither the concentrations of GSH reduce nor the levels of ROS increase significantly (p>;0.05), but the increase of DPC degrees in cells is significant (p<;0.05). There were very significant differences (p<;0.01) in the levels of ROS and DPC degrees in cells in the high concentration groups (5.00 μg/mL), while the concentrations of GSH decrease is very significant in the higher groups (50.00 μg/mL). The results suggest that the low concentrations MnO2 nanoparticles (≤0.5 μg/mL) have relatively good biocompatibility, manifesting that MnO2 nanoparticles may be applicable in the rechargeable batteries areas and other related fields." @default.
