- W2134545908 abstract "This paper essentially consists of a description of two unrelated sets of numerical results. On the one hand, we present the results of recent calculations of non-linear polarizabilities of atomic hydrogen, in which their variations and the variations of the dipole susceptibility at harmonic frequencies have been resolved on a fine mesh of intensity of the incident laser field. This will make a detailed analysis of high-order harmonic generation in this gas possible. On the other hand, we also study the intensity dependence of the lifetime of excited (circular) states of hydrogen. We show that adiabatic stabilization should be observable in experimental conditions which are realisable with existing laser systems, as has been suggested previously. An excellent guide to an experimental study is provided by a simple empirical law predicting, in good approximation, the intensity at which the lifetime passes by a minimum value.KeywordsHarmonic GenerationLaser FieldPhase MismatchMultiphoton IonizationHarmonic FieldThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves." @default.
