- W2139724757 abstract "Low-lying gerade electronically excited states of the Xe dimer, viz., 1g and 0+g, with a Xe 1S0+Xe* 6s[3/2]1 dissociation limit have been investigated using two-photon resonance enhanced multiphoton ionization techniques. High resolution is achieved by using this method in combination with a supersonic expansion. Moreover, the mass-resolved ion detection used in the present experiments has led to the observation of both vibrationally well-resolved spectra and continuous features, allowing the bound and dissociative parts of the excited states to be investigated separately. All spectra have been measured under both linearly and circularly polarized excitation conditions, enabling an unambiguous assignment of the signals. On the basis of Franck–Condon calculations information on the potential energy curves of the bound and dissociative parts of the excited states has been obtained." @default.
