- W2143410367 abstract "Abstract Nonradiative energy transfer from high concentrated solutions of mesitylene, the donor X (CMes = 2.88 M), to 9,10-diphenylanthracene (DPA), the acceptor Y, was studied in solvents at different viscosity (n-hexane, cyclohexane, isopropanol and n-octanol). Experimental values of the energy transfer coefficient fYX versus the acceptor concentration CY, corrected for direct absorption from the solute and from radiative energy transfer, show a strong influence of the viscosity of the system in the energy transfer process and a decrease of the energy transfer rate constant k t was obtained with the increase of the viscosity of the system. Simultaneously the increase of the effective transfer distance Reff observed with viscosity is incompatible with models that consider diffusion and a sink term for dipole-dipole energy transfer and suggests an energy migration process in the donor." @default.
