- W2147780656 abstract "The interactions between 9,10-anthraquinone (AQ) and different aromatic amines, N,N-dimethylaniline and 4,4′-bis (dimethylamino) diphenylmethane (DMDPM), have been studied using absorption, steady-state fluorescence, and laser flash photolysis techniques in organic homogeneous and heterogeneous micellar media. In polar organic homogeneous medium, electron transfer (ET) occurs from amines to excited AQ. In micellar medium, similar intermolecular ET is observed. However, in latter medium, ET predominates over hydrogen abstraction from micelles by excited AQ itself. The occurrence of ET has been further supported by the application of an external magnetic field during laser flash photolysis experiments, which modulates the yield of radical ion pairs formed through ET. Another novel feature, which has also been discussed here, is the abnormal behavior of DMDPM in micellar medium pertaining to energy transfer." @default.
