- W2148042481 abstract "Functional mitral regurgitation (fMR) is one of independent predictors of mortality and morbidity in pts with dilated cardiomyopathy. There is medical and/or interventional therapy for the treatment of fMR. In medical therapy, beta blockade is an important tool to reduce or even diminish fMR through LV reverse remodeling. In interventional treatment, biventricular pacing can reverse LV dilatation and attenuate tethering of mitral reflets. However, some pts with fMR and end-staged heart failure do not respond to medical and interventional therapy, so cardiologists also should select the patients at end-stage heart failure who will benefit from the surgical correction of fMR." @default.
