Studies with the Scanning Electron Microskop revealed no particular adaptions of the ovipositor of D. brassicae to boring or piercing. If the pods of the host plants have previously been perforated by feeding or ovipositing by Ceutorhynchus assimilis Payk. (Col., Curcul.), the gall midge will use these holes for oviposition, and is, thus, able to attack a broad range of flowering stages of its host plants. If the gall midge has to pierce the pods itself, only the early flowering stages are acceptable for oviposition. Even in the early and more pronounced in the later stages of the cultivated host plants there is a strong correlation between oviposition by the gall midge and previous Zusammenfassung Im Gegensatz zu den meisten anderen Dasineura ‐Arten legt D. brassicae ihre Eier endophytisch ab. Ein Vergleich mit den nach lichtmikroskopischen Untersuchungen bekannten morphologischen Verhältnissen der Legeröhre anderer Dasineura ‐Arten zeigt, daß D. brassicae keine morphologischen Differenzierungen aufweist, die auf ein funktionelles Abweichen des Ovipositors gegenüber anderer Dasineura ‐Arten schließen lassen. Abschirmexperimente gegen C. assimilis. Ein 1975 und 1976 in Winterraps (Sorte Lesira) durchgeführter Freilandversuch mit jeweils 6 Wiederholungen bestätigte die Ergebnisse anderer Autoren, wonach D. brassicae allein bei Anwesenheit von C. assimilis wirtschaftlich bedeutende Schäden an Rapspflanzen verursachen kann. Bei Gegenwart von 20 C. assimilis ‐Imagines pro m 2 wurden in den beiden Jahren 8,8 bzw. 8,6% der Schoten von D. brassicae mit Eiern belegt, während bei Ausschluß von C. assimilis lediglich ein Befall von 2,1 bzw. 0,05% der Schoten ermittelt wurde." @default.
