- W2149879445 abstract "Abstract - A method of increasing the bandwidth of MPA by using two additional resonator gap coupled to the radiating edges of the rectangular patch is described. The simulated result are in good agreement with experimental and theoretical results. The result are simulated by MOM based IE3D software I. INTRODUCTION Due to the several advantages of microstrip antenna such as low profile simple and inexpensive to manufacture and compatible with MMIC design. They are used in the aircraft, satellite, missile wireless and mobile communication. For linearly polarized microstrip antennas, the bandwidth is limited by variations of the input impedance and a commonly used definition for bandwidth is the frequency range over which input voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) is less than two. The major disadvantages of the microstrip antenna are narrow bandwidth and low frequency. The bandwidth can be increased by using the various technique such as by using thicker substrate, by decreasing the dielectric constant, by using the gap coupled multiple resonators, by loading a patch, trapezoidal shaped antennas, parasitic strips capacitively coupled to the non-radiating edges of square patch antenna, rectangular antenna with its radiating edge gap-coupled to the quarter wavelength short-circuited parasitic element, multilayer structures, staggers tuned resonators, log-periodic structures, quasi-log-periodic structures etc." @default.
