Es zeigte sich, daß die Schmelzkurve von der Entmischungskurve durchschnitten wird. Das Schmelzdiagramm besitzt ein Eutektikum bei − 6,7 °C und der Konzentration xN = 0,132; der obere kritische Entmischungspunkt liegt bei − 2,49 °C und xN = 0,363. Mit den Schmelzdaten wurden die auf − 2,5 °C bezogenen Aktivitäten der beiden Komponenten und die Freie Mischungsenthalpie ΔG berechnet. Ferner wurde die Mischungsenthalpie (Mischungswärme) gemessen und die Mischungsentropie bestimmt. Die molare Volumenänderung ΔV von Nitrobenzol-Cyclohexan wurde bei 20 °C ermittelt. Sie ist positiv und läßt sich durch eine von Scatchard angegebene Gleichung quantitativ ausdrücken. The solid-liquid phase diagram and the curve of phase separation of the binary system nitrobenzene-cyclo-hexane was determined. The melting point curve proved to be crossed by a miscibility gap. The phase diagram contains an eutectic point (eutectic temperature −6.7 °C, composition XN = 0.132 mole fraction). The upper consolute temperature is 2.49 °C ± 0.02 °C, critical composition xN = 0.363. Activities of both components and the free enthalpy of mixing δG referring to − 2.5 °C were calculated from the melting point data. In addition enthalpy and entropy of mixing were determined. The molar volume change on mixing δV of nitrobenzene and cyclohexane was measured at 20 °C. δV is a positive quantity, which can be expressed quantitatively by a formula derived by Scatchard." @default.
