This stereospecific ring‐opening process was efficiently promoted by a tungsten/bis(hydroxamic acid) catalytic system, furnishing various anti ‐3‐amino‐1,2‐diols with excellent regiocontrol and high enantioselectivities (up to 95 % ee ).
