In order to performed them it counts with a measurement network and uses various support tools, including satellite images. While different Organizations make excellent regional maps, most cover only la region pampeana. Thats why with own purposes and requests for support to other Provincial and Regional Organizations, maps are produced with the basic variables such as Monthly Rainfall, Standardized Precipitation Index and Vegetation Index. The Standardized Precipitation Index (PSI) is used to evaluate the occurrence of significant deficit or excess of precipitation in a region at different time scales. This indicator is within the group used to make forecasts for early warning of drought. In this sense, the DPA provides another tool for decision making. Joint to the time scale for calculating the IPE, maps published by the DPA correspond to 3, 6 and 12 months, which have information that can be used for agricultural purposes and to assess groundwater recharge and determination of surface runoff. To calculate the IPE we record rainfall of about 30 stations, whose series reach 25 or more years of registration. The spatial distribution of these covers the whole province. Measurements are made from MODIS images, provided by CONAE, which determines the average monthly values, from the formation of an average of three images for that period. The data obtained allow us to verify monthly and historical variations thereof. This work describes the methodology used for the production and distribution of maps." @default.
