- W2169348497 abstract "Aerobic exercise benefits of individuals in patients with fibromyalgia: a systematic review Introduction: Fibromyalgia (FM) is defined as a syndrome, idiopathic, mainly characterized by musculoskeletal pain, diffuse and distributed in specific tender points, called tender points, and are associated with a significant negative impact on quality of life patients. An alternative non-drug treatment for this syndrome is the practice of physical activity and is the most prescribed aerobic low impact, with gradual increase in load and intensity of up to 65% to 70% of maximum heart rate (MHR). Objectives: To describe the benefits of aerobic exercise (AE) in individuals with FM. Literature Review: This review was based on scientific articles, ranging from 1994 to 2011, found in databases Latindex, Lilacs, Medline, Pubmed and Scielo. Were cataloged items that made references to the benefits of aerobic exercise in individuals with this syndrome. Using the descriptors, we selected 33 articles that referred to the FM and the benefits of EA in individuals with this syndrome, but when considering the purpose of this, only 24 studies were used in this review. Conclusion: The EA, especially the low impact on soil and / or pool should be prescribed for all individuals with FM, except those that have some contraindication. The vested benefits for this population stand to decreased pain, improved sleep, mood, cognition, sense of well being, and therefore a better quality of life." @default.
