Application of metalaxyl as a soil drench suppressed canker development when the treated trees were subsequently inoculated with Phytophthora cactorum. Fosetyl-Al significantly reduced the growth of fungus compared with cymoxanil, dimethomorph and control but it was not as effective as metalaxyl. Again, dimethomorph and cymoxanil did not influence canker development. Both metalaxyl and fosetyl-Al were active for at least 21 days after applications. Strips of trunk bark were removed from trees, that had been drenched with the tested chemicals 20 days before, and inoculated on the cambium side with P. cactorum. Metalaxyl was the most effective fungicide and fosetyl-Al significantly reduced the development of fungus compared with dimethomorph, cymoxanil and the untreated strips. Colonization of strips treated with dimethomorph was significantly less than untreated strips. In contrast, cymoxanil did not inhibit the growth of fungus. Application of metalaxyl or fosetyl-Al as trunk paint or a soil drench appear to be effective procedures for preventing Phytophthora rot of peach trees. Untersucht wurde die Aktivität von Metalaxyl, Fosetyl-Al, Dimethomorph sowie Cymoxanil gegen die Phytophthora cactorum-Fäule bei Pfirsichbäumen. Eine Anwendung von sowohl Fosetyl-Al als auch Metalaxyl als Baumstammfarbe (150 g/l) bei 3 Jahre alten PR204-Bäumen zeigte sich als pilzwachstumshemmend, Dimethomorph und Cymoxanil dagegen waren wirkungslos. Eine Behandlung mit Metalaxyl über den Boden unterdrückt die Fäuleentwicklung wenn die behandelten Bäume anschließend mit Phytophthora cactorum inokuliert worden waren. Das Pilzwachstum wurde durch Fosetyl-Al signifikant reduziert, verglichen mit Cymoxanil, Dimethomorph und bei den Kontrollpflanzen, jedoch erreichte diese Wirkung nicht die Stärke von Metalaxyl. Es konnte wieder gezeigt werden, dass auch nach einer Bodenapplikation, die Fäuleentwicklung weder durch Dimethomorph noch durch Cymoxanil beeinflusst wurde. Die Wirkungsdauer von sowohl Metalaxyl als auch Fosetyl-Al betrug mindestens 21 Tage nach der Applikation. Baumrindestreifen wurden 20 Tage nach der Bodenapplikation mit den Fungiziden entfernt, und diese auf der Kambiumseite mit P. cactorum inokuliert. Nach einer Metalaxyl-Behandlung konnte die höchste Aktivität nachgewiesen werden, Fosetyl-Al reduzierte das Pilzwachstum signifikant verglichen mit Dimethomorph, Cymoxnil bzw. der unbehandelten Kontrolle. Die Baumrindestreifen von Dimethomorphbehandelten Bäumen waren signifikant weniger mit dem Pilz kolonisiert als bei der Kontrolle. Im Gegensatz dazu konnte keine Hemmung des Pilzwachstums nach einer Cymoxanil-Behandlung festgestellt werden. Die Versuchsergebnisse zeigen, dass eine Baumstammfarbe- oder eine Bodenbehandlung mit entweder Metalaxyl oder Fosetyl-Al als wirksame Lösungen in der Bekämpfung der Phytophthora-Fäule bei Pfirsichbäume dienen könnte." @default.
